What made you decide to pursue your chosen career path?
I have a Masters in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT and worked in the manufacturing supply chain for 20 years. Since the late 1990s I reverted to finance and investment banking. This gave me the ability to assess investment opportunity through the lens of science and engineering.
What are the three key skills that are required for your job?
Engineering, finance and people skills.
What would you say is the biggest misconception about your job?
That it is hard work and boring because of mixing tech with accounting. Not true!
What advice would you give to a school student who is interested in pursuing a career similar to yours?
Develop a strategy to pursue post grad education in a field not your undergrad major.
If you could change one thing about the world what would it be?
To teach everyone the value of civics through grade-school level education.
