Social Media and Marketing Programme Assistant
This opportunity is especially aimed at Sixth form, College, Foundation, and University Undergraduate or Postgraduate students.
This role will allow the young talent to support the delivery of our largest UK Government-funded national outreach programme, "Propel into Future Flight" Boot Camp. The Boot Camps will be delivered across the country for the second year following continuous funding commitment from the UK Department for Transport (DfT) and the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), through the "Reach for the Sky" Challenge Fund.

What You'll Do

Develop and implement a comprehensive platform-tailored social media and marketing strategy across Flight Crowd’s leading Social Media channels (Instagram, X, LinkedIn) in preparation for our regional Boot Camps delivery

Create engaging, impactful and shareable content for various Social Media platforms using digital design tools of choice (preferably: Canva or Adobe) to improve brand awareness; promote Flight Crowd’s outreach activities and drive participant engagement

Develop and implement a wider marketing and communications strategy aimed at the network of existing contacts and attracting new community members. This will be done in collaboration with another young talent, the Boot Camp Event Organisation and Management Programme Assistant

Design visually appealing offline promotional materials and campaigns for regional Boot Camps

Work closely with Flight Crowd's Founder to ensure alignment of marketing activities and the wider company strategy and planned events

Assist in organising and executing online contests, giveaways, and other interactive activities to boost online presence

Engage with participants, sponsors, and partners on Social Media channels to foster a sense of community

Respond to inquiries and comments on Social Media channels in a timely and professional manner

Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative Social Media practices into the Marketing strategy

Monitor and analyse social media performance using analytics tools, providing regular reports and insights to the Senior Leadership team
Please note:

Knowledge of Canva is preferable but not essential as the tool is often used by the organisation, and training will be provided if necessary
Who You Are
Essential:
-
Passion for creating opportunities for other young people
-
Interest and motivation to work in Communications (including Social Media and Online Marketing)

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, personal responsibility and commitment to agreed tasks

Good written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and willingness to learn from experienced mentors

Experience with routine IT Microsoft Office and/or G Suite tools, including Word/Google Docs, PowerPoint/Google Slides, Excel/Google Sheets

Be at least 17 years old when applying and ideally aged 18 or over at the start of the programme (starting dates planned for April, June, September, and November 2024)

Be UK-based with written and spoken fluency in English
Desirable:

Interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) subjects is preferable

There is no requirement for you to be studying a course related to Aviation / Aerospace / STEM

There is no requirement for you to have plans to work in the Aviation / Aerospace / STEM industry
